Introduction to the world of Intermolecular Forces

Intermolecular forces play an important role in chemistry. They are forces of attraction or repulsion which act between neighboring particles which are atoms and, molecules and these forces differ from chemical bonds. For breaking a chemical bond creates a new material that reacts differently with other chemicals. While breaking an intermolecular attraction does not change the chemical formula or chemical reactivity, isn’t that fascinating! Intermolecular forces are a very interesting topic, for these forces determine how quickly a reaction can occur or if it even can occur. They also determine whether a material will be a liquid, a solid or a gas at a given temperature. Also intermolecular forces consist of several types, the most important being dispersion forces, dipole-dipole forces, and hydrogen bonding. Check out all the parts of this blog and you will learn so much cool information about intermolecular forces that you will treasure your entire life.
